A&A Legacy Travel is an award-winning, family-led independent travel agency based in Luton, with team members in Dunstable and Newcastle and clients across the United Kingdom.

We plan tailor-made holidays, all-inclusive family escapes, cruises, school-holiday travel, group journeys, honeymoons and luxury trips worldwide.

The Story Behind Our Name

A&A Legacy Travel was established by Elena Alexandra Mihailov in 2024.

The name has a personal meaning. The first “A” represents Alexandra, Elena’s middle name. The second represents her son, Alexander.

“Legacy Travel” reflects the business Elena is building for her family and the experiences she helps other families create. Her hope is that one day, if Alexander chooses, he will continue the agency, shape it in his own way and perhaps pass it to his own children.

“I am building A&A Legacy Travel for the clients we look after today, but also for Alexander. One day, if he chooses, I hope he will continue it and perhaps pass it to his own family.”

Our Destination-First Approach

Elena believes that choosing the right destination should come before choosing the hotel.

“You can change the hotel or adjust the itinerary, but you cannot change the country. The destination has to be right first.”

Elena Alexandra Mihailov

Founder, Luxury Travel Expert & Destination Specialist

Elena is the Founder of A&A Legacy Travel and the person behind its destination-first approach.

Having travelled to 29 countries and lived in five, she brings extensive first-hand experience to the journeys she creates. She specialises in luxury tailor-made holidays, family travel, honeymoons, the Indian Ocean, French Polynesia and once-in-a-lifetime itineraries.

Elena is a passionate food lover who enjoys discovering local dishes and understanding the culture behind them.

Ask her to choose between a beach holiday and a ski holiday and her answer will always be both. Her personal travel list still includes Bora Bora, exploring AlUla and skiing at night in Lapland.

Elena is based in Luton and speaks English and Romanian.

Emma

All-Inclusive Family Holiday Specialist & In-House Cruise Specialist

Emma joined A&A Legacy Travel during its first year in 2025 and is based in Newcastle.

As a mother who has travelled extensively with her daughter and wider family, she understands the realities of planning holidays for children, parents and grandparents.

Emma specialises in all-inclusive family holidays and cruises. She helps clients compare resorts, cruise lines, ships, itineraries and cabins so they can choose the experience best suited to their family and travel style.

Her experience makes her particularly suited to family cruises, multigenerational holidays, adults-only escapes and all-inclusive resorts.

Emma is also a devoted dog lover and Tyson’s very proud owner.

Katarina

Family, School Holiday & Group Travel Specialist

Katarina joined A&A Legacy Travel during its second year and is based in Dunstable.

A mother of two who has travelled from a young age, Katarina has now visited 39 countries. Her experience of travelling with young children gives her a practical understanding of what families need from their holidays.

She recently coordinated a successful journey for 20 people, including babies, children, adults and grandparents travelling from different airports. She managed the different flights, accommodation and individual family arrangements.

Katarina is also working on another 20-person school-holiday group combining flights, a hotel stay and a cruise.

She is particularly suited to school-holiday travel, multigenerational families, larger groups and journeys involving departures from several airports.

Alexander

Honorary Co-Founder & Junior Family Traveller

Alexander is Elena’s son, the second “A” in A&A Legacy Travel and the inspiration behind the business.

Their shared travel story began before he was born. When Elena was four months pregnant, they travelled to Crete for their babymoon, followed by Ibiza.

Since then, Alexander has travelled to the Maldives, Sri Lanka, Mauritius twice and many other destinations.

He loves trying local food, playing golf, snorkelling, skiing and relaxing on beaches surrounded by palm trees, preferably with fresh coconut water nearby.

His genuine reactions help Elena consider destinations and hotels from a child’s point of view, including the food, pools, beaches, room comfort and family activities.

Alexander does not advise clients or handle bookings. His role reflects his place in the founding story, his experience as a young traveller and the legacy Elena hopes one day to pass to him.

Mihai

Flights, Ski Trips & Family Travel Contributor

Mihai is Elena’s fiancé, long-term travel partner and an important part of the family story behind A&A Legacy Travel.

He does not sell holidays or manage client bookings. Within the family, he takes charge of flights and helps organise their personal travel.

Mihai also coordinates their annual ski holidays with groups of family and friends, balancing different travellers, arrangements and expectations.

He is the extrovert of the family. Whether he is in the Maldives, Ibiza or on a ski holiday, Mihai naturally starts conversations and builds connections. Taxi drivers, hotel teams, local residents and public figures can all feel like old friends by the end of a conversation with him.

His understanding of flights, group ski travel and the people encountered along the way brings another genuine perspective to the A&A story.

Tyson

Emma’s Office Companion

Tyson is Emma’s much-loved dog and a four-legged member of the A&A Legacy Travel family.

He keeps Emma company while she works on family holidays and cruise plans and brings some extra warmth to the team’s behind-the-scenes life.

Tyson does not inspect hotels or answer enquiries, but he takes his office-companion duties seriously.
